Hello, My name is Stella and I cannot believe that I'm on the internet. You see, my mother taught me to sew when I was 10 yrs old and that was over 70 yrs ago. I grew up during the Great Depression, in a small Texas town, on a really small farm. We had to be as self-sufficient as possible. I learned to make quilts on the wood frame by hand and I still make them that way. I only use my sewing machine to assemble the design (squares) everything else is handsewn. It can take me up to 4 weeks to finish a Full/Queen size quilt. My late husband and I raised 12 children, 10 girls and 2 boys. Sewing was something I did almost daily. My children and grandchildren are grown, I now sew for relaxation. I believe that keeping your mind busy will help keep you healthy. My daughter introduced me to the internet and here I am!
