    Big News & BIG Preparations

I have been making gemstone bead jewelry for 6 years now and my intent at the start was not to sell jewelry. That sort evolved as my skill improved and my love of the craft deepened. I have met with varying degrees of success in the sale of Organic Beads, both online and at craft shows but things have definitely heated up in the past year. More »

    Happy Memorial Day

I am a jewelry artist but I am a mom first. My 14-year old son plays tournament baseball, which has my husband and I on the road an awful lot. From early spring through mid-autumn, we are traveling to baseball fields near and far. More »

    A little homesick

I had to go out of town on a full-time job related business trip this week. I was faced with the choice of either bringing a stash of beads and jewelry-making tools on the road with me and checking my bag at the airport or leaving my jewelry supplies home and carrying my bag onto the plane with me. I did it!

I was able to meet my deadline and complete all 25 necklaces for Christmas gifts commissioned by a very, very good customer from work. Whew. I was literally seeing pink opals, faceted carnelians, black agate, garnet ovals, amethyst chips, freshwater pearls, turquoise, apatite and other gemstones swirling in my head there for awhile. Intergalactic Bead Show 12/5/2010 in York, PA

I did make it to the IBS in York on December 5. They had many of the same great vendors, plus a few new ones this time. I picked up some fabulous lapis, some strands of tiny garnets, glittering faceted blue agate, little faceted round aquamarines, black agate rounds, some beautiful faceted carnelian rondelles and lots more.
