Handmade pine needle baskets and gourds. Using longleaf pine needles and natural raffia and sinew, I coil these baskets with intricate designs. I also carve, paint, coil and wood burn designs on Gourds.

Pine Needle Effigy (Doll) Basket

This basket is made from longleaf pine needles from Florida and dyed raffia. I made the head fit tightly into the basket or body like a cork. I covered the head with raffia curls and I added a pine needle with raffia petals for her to hold. This is a typical effigy basket like the Papago indians make. This one measures about 5-6" tall. She is unique and although I have made others there are none quite like her. She won 2nd place ribbon at the 2008 Texas State Fair She will come with a signed card by me.
