PoliciesOur policies are simple. They are the general guidelines that ShopHandmade operates by. The most basic policy is: Common Sense and flexibility.
What can be soldThere are three sections in ShopHandmade:Handmade - You may sell handmade items which are not mass produced. They may be items which you have made yourself or items which have been made by others. The only rule is that the items must not be mass produced. Common sense says that items made in far distant factories and that have bar-codes do not qualify. reSupplies™ - You may sell reusable craft supplies which may be new or used. The condition of the items should be clearly shown in the pictures and be accurately described. Examples include partial sheets of stickers, used rubber stamps, partial skeins of yarn, tools, and partly assembled model airplanes which you have gotten very very mad at. Services - These services should be particularly specific to the crafting process, tools, and learning. Computer Guru services are included because graphic arts is highly specialized and everybody needs a good guru to help do magical things on the computer. We would like to point out that the last category is photography and not pornography. What cannot be sold on ShopHandmade are any items which are unsuitable for all audiences, or items which are illegal, or items which would be regarded by many people as offensive. ShopHandmade is a marketplace, not a soapbox.
SponsorsPlease treat our sponsors kindly. We exist because of them. This service can be free because of them. We would love if you shop on their web sites.
SalesThe decision of whether to participate in sales is the decision of each store owner. While we provide marketing around holidays and coordinate sales, we do not set the discount levels or choose which items will be on sale. Store owners should consider if they wish to participate in Sales and choose the appropriate options in their listings.
DisputesShopHandmade does not get involved in disputes. PayPal offers good buyer and seller protection programs. When you use PayPal you are protecting yourself. Note that there are "disputes" and then "claims" on Paypal and they are not the same.
FeedbackBuyers can leave whatever feedback they desire for sellers. We don't have a reciprical arrangement for sellers to leave feedback for buyers. When considering feedback, look at what is written and judge whether the buyer seems like a reasonable person.
