What do we charge?You can sell on ShopHandmade entirely for free.We do offer some inexpensive promotion services, but they are entirely your choice. Our percentage fee is literally "pay us whatever you want" and you pick the percentage…even nothing at all!
Listing Fees:There is a 25¢ fee for every item that you offer for sale in our catalog. Items do not expire as long as you log into your account at least every 30 days.You can choose to have your item be automatically relisted when your item sells. For example, if you indicate that you have three items to sell then the item will be relisted two more times. Each time an item is relisted the Listing Fee applies. (If sponsored the sponsorship will usually continue.) List for free! Frequently we have sponsors who are willing to pay all or part of the listing fee for you. When you list an item, the available sponsors will appear in the Listing Fee space. Choose the sponsor that you like and they will pay the fee to us. (And for relistings!)
Sold Item Fee:When you sell an item we charge a percentage of the item's final selling price. We only charge this when the item actually sells.You choose the percentage that you want to offer us. You can choose any percentage…even 0%. There is no pressure. Pay us a selling fee only if you wish. Selling fees on other sites vary. For example, eBay charges 12%.
Galleries:Listing your item in our galleries is entirely optional. When you list your item in a Gallery it will be featured for 24 hours or until the item is sold out. If you have a quantity of the item, then it remains listed for the entire 24 hours or until all of the quantity has sold.Galleries are filled using an auction: you bid whatever you wish to be in the gallery and when a slot becomes available it is assigned to the highest bid. Rainforest ProtectionYou may choose to sponsor the protection of 100 or 250 square feet of endangered rainforest. The cost is minimal. This fee is only paid when your item actually sells. You can change your sponsorship at any time.
Top-UpNew listings are added to the top of all items. As other new listings are added the existing listings move down. You can "top-Up" your listing for 25¢ at any time and this will move it to the top again, and will renew your listing. If you do not Top-Up then your listing will eventually expire and you can re-list it for free using a sponsored listing.
No Hidden Fees:There is no fee to buy items through ShopHandmade. There are no monthly fees, no membership fees, and no minimums. |
